Books Upon Books

As somebody who reads an awful lot, I get questions about what people should be reading or what I have loved in the past. So here it is, a look at what is currently on my shelves. This is by no means my entire books collection, I have a ton at my parent's house that I didn't have room for here. These books are mostly either things I love and had to bring with me or things I plan on reading in the future. Enjoy!

It has Arrived!

Fall is here!!!

I think it has been a long time since I have been so excited about the coming of a season. While our summer was not particularly rough this year at all, there is something so amazing about chilly days where I can wear flannel and leggings without people wondering what I am thinking.

I have been really enjoying my new job where I get to have my mornings to myself to get things done. Today was especially exciting because my roommate took the day off and was able to take blog pictures for me :) We also were able to be constructive and make our way to the local landfill to finally get rid of all the crap we have been storing since we moved in.

If it isn't obvious, I am completely obsessed with this sweater. To me it is the epitome of fall; long, tribal print, and dark green. What could be better? I think my only regret is not buying more when I was shopping. Well that is enough rambling for one blog post, enjoy the pics :)

Longing for Fall

There is always a certain point in August where I decide that I am done with summer and ready for the next season to come. It’s not that I don’t like summer, especially when it it has been this mild, it’s more a longing for change. I long for the trees to color, to light fall scented candles, and the ability to wear sweaters without wanting to die.
However, with that longing for fall, comes the realization that I have to go back to work and don’t get to spend my days lazing about with my dog. Gone will be the days of sleeping in and having my only worry be when I’m going to clean the house.
I think this outfit shows my longing for fall but at the same time accepts the reality that I still have a month to go. I had a lovely brunch today, I think brunch should be a requirement for Sundays. I also bought my dog a new toy and I think her happiness in that has brightened my entire day.

Lazy Sunday

           (dress-asos, shoes-converse)

I find that when I have nothing to do on Sundays, throwing on a cute dress and doing my hair makes me feel like my day wasn’t completely wasted :).
I find more and more swing dresses making their way into my wardrobe simply for the fact that they are the easiest things to wear in the universe. They are comfortable and oddly flattering in a way you wouldn’t expect. I look forward to adding many more into my closet as summer slowly winds up.
